My name is Rufus!

I'm snuggly.

I'm lovable.

Hi! I am a spaniel mix who was found wandering the streets of Los Angeles, CA a few months ago, and when my time was up at the shelter, I was rescued in the hopes of changing my fate. I've enjoyed a couple of cozy foster homes, but because of human time commitments and other pet responsibilities, I am still on a quest to find my forever home. Would you like to help?


A few things about me:


- My medical records say I'm around 3 years old, but I have heard I act like a playful puppy.


- You could say I'm medium in size, and weigh about 16-18 pounds.


- I was neutered, micro-chipped and am up-to-date on all my shots--there is paperwork to prove it.


- I have a very sweet disposition that some might call needy, but what can I say, I love to snuggle!


- Not sure who named me Rufus (have also seen it spelled it Ruphas), but apparently it's Irish for "red headed one." Judging from the coloring on my face and head, it's pretty spot-on...I respond to it, but if you would like to teach me a new name, I am open to it.


- My coat is nice, and I've been told I'm very agile and strong, with a LOT of energy.


- I enjoy the outdoors--walks are my favorite. If you want to run with me, I promise to keep up, and if you throw a ball for me to catch, I could spend hours. 


- I get along with anyone who will love me. I wag my tail and sniff small and large dogs alike, though I'm not sure how I'll be around cats. I'm great with children and have heard the humans say that they think I would do best in an otherwise pet-free house where I'd be the star, but I'm not picky.


- A small re-homing fee to cover the costs of all the vet stuff mentioned above is kindly requested, though, you'll have to work that out with the humans, since I don't own a wallet. An application and home visit are part of that, too.


- Because my current foster parents love me lots and wish their home was larger to accommodate their dog and my playfulness (and occasional spats), they are hoping to find me a great home that's a fit. If you're not able to keep me forever, fostering would be greatly appreciated.
